Everything is Better in Paris Shoes
Via Flickr:
A shoes shop in rue Castiglione, near Place Vendôme, Paris (France).
Original way to decorate a showcase in one of the zones of more expensive stores of Paris. The shoes are cool, in the two meanings of the word.
Dedicated to scaamanho, so that he sees that he is not the unique one in inflicting the law: there was an enormous signal of prohibition to make photos alongside of this showcase.
The Art Company Shoes
Via Flickr:
Had to go to an ARC conference in Oxford. When Rod knelt down to write stuff on the floor I saw his cool shoes. So I ran and took a photo. I had to assure him that I wasn't taking pictures of his bum.
On a side note, it's important to see how this picture is slightly blurry. This wouldn't have happened if I had image stablizer.

Elton John Heads World Aids Day; Substance, Style And Passion At Circular Quay, Sydney
Musical genius Elton John appeared at an intimate gathering tonight made up of supporters in the fight against AIDS at Sydney's Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay, Sydney.
It's all part of World AIDS Day, and John's appearance no doubt helped draw the right news media, Sydney business elite and humanitarians to the venue on little over 24 hours notice from what we understand.
The artist is fresh off two appearances at The Star (ex Star City Casino) The Lyric which was on the 26th and 27th October.
Tonight it was a case of style, substance and passion (including some well placed passionate cuss words from Mr John) over style (not that there wasn't style in the room - there sure was), but everyone knew that real action was required. John is actually the head fundraiser of his own Elton John Foundation. There was no real publicity stunt (unless you wanted to include John's passionate and well placed colourful cussing which helped emphasise importance and realness of the issues).
John commended Australia on not letting AIDS become a political scoring match, but something that brought everyone together. He said he believed some stigma still existed with the topic of AIDS, but that people knew it was "not just a faggots disease anymore."
VIP's took to the stage to back up John's quest included Hon Anthony Albanese MP Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Hon Jillian Skinner MP NSW Minister for Health and Minister for Medical Research and Bill Bowtell Executive Director: Pacific Friends of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
To close off the event John cut the ribbon and the Sydney Opera House lit up in beautiful red to commemorate World Aids Day. An impressive fireworks display alongside our Opera House followed, and the VIP's kindly made themselves available to photographers and other media.
Public thanks to Elton John, Nick (media) and Will (for the wonderful red ribbons).
A big congrats to John and his team for their ongoing great work in their quest to find a cure to AIDS and other serious social challenges.

Cat Deeley: So You Think You Can Dance star does Sydney, by Eva Rinaldi
Cat Deeley is enjoying a working holiday of Australia, mainly focused on Sydney, and Sony PlayStation and / or Fox Broadcasting's 'So You Think You Can Dance' are picking up most of the tab.
Ms Deeley was spotted earlier today at tourist hub Circular Quay, and then was whisked back to her hotel.
Media blurb from Sony yesterday read: Sony Computer Entertainment Australia (SCE Aust.) and international megastar Cat Deeley – presenter of “So You Think You Can Dance” US – are preparing to celebrate the launch of DanceStar™ Party, a new PlayStation®3 (PS3™) exclusive dance game from the creators of smash hit sensation, photo-shoot, Cat Deeley showed off her PlayStation® moves on DanceStar Party ahead of her first official public appearance in Sydney.
First Fleet Park in Circular Quay was the daylight venue for the excitement. Dancers, gamers and punters battled it out for the title of Australia’s DanceStar. The lucky winner will hoping a plane to America next year to watch a 'So You Think You Can Dance' live filming, in addition to snatching a year’s supply of PlayStation games to satisfy their fix.
"I see so many talented dancers in my line of work, but you don’t have to be a pro to enjoy DanceStar Party," Deeley said. "In typical PlayStation style this game brings you experiences that no one else can – a killer 40 song track list set to the original music video clips, and a whopping 160 choreographed dance routines. With the PlayStation Move motion controller you can even create your own moves, or simply step into the virtual shoes of artists like Basement Jaxx, Usher and Willow Smith. You can easily share your moves from the game on Facebook and Twitter. I can’t wait to see what Australians have to offer tomorrow. Get those legwarmers out people!" she said.
The release of the game plus the celeb push is all part of Sony's attempt to hold off the global downturn in gaming sales.
If today's turn out at Circular Quay was any indication, Sony PlayStation is set to satisfy the high demands of the Australia's gaming youth sector. Let's dance.

Would love to hear yours.
Dansko Mary Janes (photo)
I just bought my first pair of Dansko, Savanna which is a heel and a Mary Jane style.
Super comfy, but not great to run down streets in but excellent shoes for standing all day or regular walking (not exercising/power walks) just sighteseeing, etc.

I just love this photo!

i learned to climb very early, i'm sure i'm responsible for more than a few of my mother's gray hairs. i have heard so many stories about when i was a toddler, how it was a common occurrence for whoever was watching me, to leave the room and return to find me gone...followed by a little bit of search, ending on the mantle. After a few times, they did learn to look up first
For Mother's Day-- The Elegant Shoe Box

In this side of the world we celebrated Mother's Day on August 15th, my mom is a shoe lover, so this was the perfect cake for her.
Half of the cake was chocolate mud cake and the other part was white chocolate mud cake. The cake was filled with chocolate ganache.
My mom loved it! :)

But this made me smile.

Orange Stilettos! with Wedge Sole (photo)
Photo note:
Via Flickr:
High-heeled footwear (often abbreviated as high heels or simply heels) is footwear that raises the heel of the wearer's foot significantly higher than the toes. When both the heel and the toes are raised equal amounts, as in a platform shoe, it is technically not considered to be a "high-heel"; however, there are also high-heeled platform shoes. High heels tend to give the aesthetic illusion of longer, more slender and more toned legs. High-heels come in a wide variety of styles, and the heels are found in many different shapes, including stiletto, pump (court shoe), block, tapered, blade, and wedge.
According to high fashion shoe websites like Jimmy Choo and Gucci, a "low heel" is considered less than 2.5 inches) (6 centimeters), while heels between 2.5 and 3.5 inches (8.5 cm) are considered "mid heels," and anything over that is considered a "high heel"[citation needed].
Although high heels are now almost exclusively worn by girls and women, there are shoe designs worn by both genders that have elevated heels, including cowboy boots and cuban heels. In previous ages men also wore high heels.
